Plastic Injection Molding

Moving Injection Molding to a New Level

Experience and innovation powers the plastic injection molding operations at Hi-Tech. We’ve been producing components and assemblies using Plastic Injection Molding since 1983. From our first job through today, we strive to create and perfect better ways to build better solutions to your specifications.

Leveraging Our Injection Molding Engineering and Materials Expertise

Hi-Tech also leverages its engineering and materials expertise producing optical quality lenses, parts with many or difficult inserts and robust outdoor recreational components. We have also mastered overmolding, including:

  • Insert Molding
  • Two Shot Overmolding
  • Insert Overmolding
  • Insert Overmolding with Silicone

Leaders in High-Temperature Injection Molding Since 1985

We’ve been a leader in molding high-temperature, heavily filled and generally difficult materials since 1985, when we sampled our first bag of Ultem. Currently, Hi-Tech injection molds large quantities of the most challenging materials, including:

  • Over 7,500 pounds of carbon-fiber-filled PEEK
  • 1,500 pounds of glass filled PEEK
  • 10,300 pounds of glass-filled PPS
  • 19,500 pounds of Ultem
  • 2000 pounds of Torlon

Can you determine if the barrel or injection molding unit is large enough to make the part you need?

Our equipment list contains both the Ounces of Polystyrene that each Injection Molding machines Injection Unit or barrel will hold and the Peak Injection Pressure. The Ounces of Polystyrene is most helpful as if you have the volume …

Near-Net-Shape Injection Molding for More Options in Resin

Injection Molding can’t do everything. That’s why Hi-Tech introduced Near-Net-Shape Injection Molding to add CNC Machining to the resin production. For 20+ years, we’ve been creating parts that typical injection molding simply can’t.

Near-Net-Shape production uses injection molding to account for 70-90% of the final geometry of a part. We complete the part to your precise specifications with CNC Milling operations. In addition to more complex shapes and profiles, Near-Net-Shape Molding enables us to eliminate knit lines, add undercuts, increase options for geometry and tolerances, and reduce tooling cost for low-volume parts.
Thanks to Near-Net-Shape injection molding Hi-Tech can generate components most others cannot, without breaking Thermoplastic’s rules. That generally results in lower cost, reduced lead times and precisely conforming parts.
